Hi Friends!
What a beautiful Spring it is here in the Texas Hill Country. We have had some much-needed rain and the cool mornings and evenings have been perfect for planting flowers and sometimes replacing and replanting where the curious cows and their calves have decided to dine. From our back porch, we are enjoying the views of the trees, hills, and valleys in all their various shades of green. We especially love seeing all the brilliantly colored bluebonnets and other wildflowers popping up everywhere.
This is our favorite time of year to take a stolen moment or day to take a country drive to see the wildflowers, wildlife, and beautiful landscapes. Since the early days of our marriage, country drives have been our number one favorite recreational activity. It allows us time to talk, laugh, see the sights, experience new adventures, shop in one of the nearby small towns, and stop in for lunch at a new-found restaurant or much-loved café along the way. No matter which direction we take from the Inn, we always find scenic landscapes and sights to see along the way. Depending on how much time we can spare, Lynn will map out a drive along the back roads to one of our local small towns. Just when we think we have taken every blue highway and country road in the area, we continue to find new detours with more amazing landscapes and adventures.
When I ask guests about their plans for their stay, often they simply want a retreat with no agenda other than to relax on the porch, soak in the hot tub, star gaze around the firepit, read a good book, take walks around the property, watch the sunset, and spend quiet quality time with their spouse, family or friends.
Some guests simply come for the fun of shopping, wine tours, art studios, and dining experiences. Others are looking for a retreat in a relaxing peaceful environment where they can take time to plan and set goals for their home, family or business. Some come to relax and end up getting inspired to create a new work of art, write a poem or book, or determine it is time to finally move forward with that big idea they have been dreaming about.
Before arriving, we send guests restaurant recommendations in and around Wimberley, such as The Creekhouse Kitchen & Bar, or fun places to hang out such as Social on the Square or the Shady Llama. Please let us know how we can help you plan your next trip to the beautiful Texas Hill Country. We enjoy sharing our favorite wineries, watering holes, walking trails, shops and some of our favorite drives.
Hope to see you soon!
