The inn is comprised of multiple rustic, modern buildings and gathering areas.
Main Lodge– the location of the mornings’ delicious farm-to-table breakfasts, as well as homemade treats available all day.
The main house deck sits under beautiful storied oak trees where you can enjoy coffee or breakfast and take in the perfect view of rolling hills and valleys in the distance.
Winter’s Mill Cabin– is a cedar board and batten cottage with a kitchen, living/dining room, and two bedrooms. The covered porch is the perfect place to start your day with coffee and end with your favorite beverage as you capture another stunning sunset. The outdoor hot tub is a quiet and peaceful place to take in the wonders of the stars at night.
Granary Room– constructed from reclaimed wood and tin, located at the Cedar Barn overlooking the valley below- offers a deck with an outdoor hot tub and fire pit.
Two-story Carriage House– has three private king guest rooms (Mill Room, Sunset Room, and Tack Room), all with breathtaking views from the rocking chairs of the covered upstairs porch and the hot tub on the covered patio below.
The Glamper– is a beautifully restored Airstream located under the lean-to of the barn and has two single beds with a living area and a second separate newly built large full bathroom. The Glamper has a picnic area under the old oak trees.
The Silo– The outdoor bar located between the Main House Deck and Carriage House is an old tin grain bin that was relocated from a Kansas farm and reconstructed next to one of the firepits allowing guests to relax as they watch a classic movie at the outdoor theater.
Firepits– In addition to the firepit by the Silo, and another on the deck near the Granary Room, a third firepit is located underneath the old windmill close to the barn. All three are surrounded by Adirondack chairs and open to the big sky, and a great place to stay warm, roast marshmallows, and observe the starry sky.

Early in our marriage we started staying at bed and breakfasts when we traveled on vacations or little getaways. Our very first stay was at a beautiful old farmhouse across the road from the lake in South Haven, Michigan. Everything from the beautiful old home, the smell of fresh peach potpourri on our dresser, the cool breeze blowing in from the open windows, to the taste and smell of fresh baked goods coming from the kitchen made it truly a hygge experience. From that first stay we were hooked; we knew that we wanted to run our own romantic bed and breakfast someday.
Fast forward many years, where we found the perfect place near Wimberley in the beautiful Texas Hill Country to build and share with our guests the Inn at Sunset Mill Ranch. From the moment you drive through the gate and wind down the long drive to your cabin or guest room, you will feel relaxed and renewed in anticipation of a stay filled with beautiful views and grounds, luxurious rooms, good food, fun and special moments with your sweetheart.

- Blue Hole Park is a great place to take a short or long hike, as well as the best swimming hole.
- Driftwood Estate Winery has great wines and beautiful views. They also have a good bistro overlooking the valley that is open for lunch or small plates on the weekends.
- One of our favorite scene drives takes you through the backroads of Blanco, Luckenbach, and Stonewall to Fredericksburg where you will find a great old downtown area with great boutique shopping, a world-class Pacific War museum, and plenty of fun places to stop along the way.
- Trattoria Lisina in Driftwood has great Italian food and beautiful atmosphere. They take reservations, and we do recommend that you make them a few weeks/days before you arrive.
- The Shady Llama for a hill country cocktail, great views, live music and llamas and donkeys.
