Hi Friends,
Here at Inn at Sunset Mill Ranch “Its Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas …”
Even though we don’t have snow, and it looks more like fall with the changing leaves, the temperatures are dipping and there is a crispness in the air. This inspires us to slow down a bit, count our blessings, and enjoy both the simple and memory-making opportunities that this special time of year provides. We have been decorating for Christmas, gathering with friends, hosting parties, and roasting marshmallows around the firepit. We look forward to celebrating the holidays with family, and welcoming you dear friends to enjoy this season with us.
The wonderfully delicious scents of fresh baked goods coming from the kitchen invite us to linger a little longer over breakfast and a second or third cup of coffee. The season inspires me to find (and put a twist or two) on new holiday recipes that I love to share with guests. Favorites so far include the Holiday Brunch Coffee Cake, a festive cranberry treat that I discovered in an old Texas Legacy Cookbook (Changing Thymes). Recently while celebrating our anniversary at Trattoria Lisina, one of our favorite local restaurants, we had to try their Amaretti Cookies for dessert. After the first bite, I knew I had to attempt to recreate this naturally gluten-free almond cookie. Both were big hits to those guest who were the first to try these delicious new recipes, and all agreed that they should be added to our regular lineup of sweet treat offerings.
All around Wimberley and nearby Texas Hill Country communities there are numerous opportunities to celebrate the season with live music, shopping, Christmas lights and other special events. You definitely don’t want to miss the Trail of Lights at Emily Ann Theater – Dec 2-26 – where guests will enjoy live entertainment most nights, as well as several special events throughout the run of the trail, all while enjoying marshmallows and hot chocolate. And of course, Santa Claus will be there to greet everyone!
We are wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year, and hope to see you soon here at Inn at Sunset Mill Ranch!
Stay Innspired, Diana & Lynn
