Food & Beverage

Is breakfast included with your stay?

Yes, a full farm-to-table homemade breakfast is served each morning and is included with your stay.

What time and where is breakfast served?

Breakfast is served in the main house lodge breakfast room each morning between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Please let the host know when you check-in approximately what time you would like breakfast each morning. 


Are other meals provided?

The breakfast room is open all the time and there are complimentary drinks, snacks, and baked goods always available. You can also order picnic baskets, charcuterie boards, and other items online with a few days’ notice. 


Can you accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Yes. Please let us know your needs before arrival, and our kitchen will prepare a delicious breakfast and treats that meet your dietary preferences.

Do you offer coffee and tea throughout the day?

Each suite includes coffee, tea, and a Keurig. We also serve fresh coffee with breakfast each morning, and the breakfast room is open all the time to enjoy coffee, tea and treats throughout the day.

Can breakfast be served to the room?

Breakfast is served in our dining area, but we’re happy to prepare to-go plates if you prefer privacy or an early start.

Do you offer picnic baskets or charcuterie boards?

Yes, we offer charcuterie boards and picnic baskets and other add-ons by request. Please arrange at least 24 hours in advance.

Can we bring our own wine or beverages?

Yes! Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages to enjoy on their private porch or around the property.

Property & Activities

How can we check-in early?

Call or text us at 512-800-2183 to request early check-in. The inn will work to accommodate early arrivals if at all possible.

Do you allow late check-outs?

At Inn at Sunset Mill Ranch, checkout is at 12:00 p.m. (noon). If you would like a later checkout, we may be able to accommodate your request for a $35 ‘linger longer’ fee. Please contact us in advance to arrange this.

Do you have cows or other animals on the Ranch?

Yes, there are several cows with their babies that graze on the 25 acres as well as neighboring properties. Also numerous wildlife such as deer, turkey, fox and rabbits are often spotted on the property. And our sweet Cocker Spaniel, Bailey, will likely greet you while you are visiting. 

What wildlife or animals might we see on the ranch?

Deer, birds, fox, cattle and other native Hill Country creatures are frequent visitors to the property. You will also likely be greeted by our sweet cocker spaniel, Bailey.  

Do you allow children?

Because guests often get away for anniversary and other special celebrations at the Inn, we allow children 12 and older only. The only exception is for group rentals where all of the rooms are reserved.  

Do you allow pets, and is there a charge?

We allow up to two dogs in the Winter’s Mill Cabin and Granary Room only. There is a charge of $25/per day per pet. The Carriage House and Glamper are not suited for pets. 

Do you offer guided ranch tours?

We’re happy to give you a brief orientation to the property, and you are welcome to hike on the 25 acres.

Are there picnic areas or scenic overlooks?

Yes — the ranch offers several picturesque spots perfect for picnics, morning coffee, or sunset viewing. We also offer picnic lunch add-ons.

Do you have a pool or hot tub:

There are three hot tubs on the property:

  1. The Winter’s Mill Cabin has a private outdoor hot tub. 
  2. The Granary Room is located next to the big cedar barn and is steps away from a deck with a large outdoor hot tub
  3. The Glamper is under the lean-to of the big cedar barn and is steps away from the outdoor hot tub.
  4. The Carriage House Rooms (Mill Room, Sunset Room and Tack Room) are all second story rooms and share a first floor covered porch with an outdoor hot tub.
Do you have hiking trails on your property?

Yes, we have 25 acres and guests are welcome to walk anywhere on the property, as well as the roadways and hills and valleys. 

How many guests will the Inn facilitate?

 The Inn is made up of multiple buildings, and will accommodate a total of 14-17 people:

  1. The Winter’s Mill Cabin accommodates 4 with one king bedroom downstairs with a full bathroom, and two full beds in a second loft bedroom with a half bath. It also has a living room, kitchen with dining area, as well as a private covered porch with beautiful views of the hills and sunset.
  2. The Granary Room is a king suite and accommodates 2 with a large private ADA compliant bathroom.
  3. The Carriage House rooms:

      -The Mill Room is a king suite and accommodates 2 with a large private bathroom.

      -The Sunset Room is a king suite and accommodates 2 with a large private bathroom.

      -The Tack Room is a king suite and accommodates 2 with a large private bathroom.

  1. The Glamper is an Airstream that accommodates 2 with two single beds and has a large separate bathroom steps away from the front door as well as a small bathroom inside the camper. 
  2. If you still need more rooms, ask about the Maggie Suite in the Main House Lodge which accommodates 3, with two bedrooms each with their own bathrooms and living room.


Do you have an Electric Vehicle Charging Station

Yes, the EV Charger will accommodate any electric vehicle and is available at all times to guests.

What activities are available at the Inn?
  1. The decks and porches are great places to observe wildlife, birdwatching, reading a good book, watching the sunsets and enjoying your favorite beverage. 
  2. Three outdoor hot tubs
  3. Three outdoor firepits with Adirondack chairs surrounding each
  4. An outdoor movie theater
  5. The Silo is an outdoor bar made from an old grain bin with a big screen TV, cooler and ice machine
Do you have recommendations of where to eat in Wimberley?

Yes, a text will be sent to you prior to your arrival date with a list of recommended restaurants. That list also can be found on our website here.

Can we stargaze on the property?

Our remote location provides incredible dark skies. Stargazing is one of our guests’ favorite evening activities.

Do you allow drones for photography?

For the privacy of all guests, drone usage must be approved before flying on the property.

Are there places to fish, kayak, or swim nearby?

Yes — nearby options include Blue Hole, Jacob’s Well, and Cypress Falls, all just a short drive away.

What is your cancellation policy?

Not at this time. However, we can provide a list of recommended local spas.

Special Occasions

Do you provide romantic add-ons (roses, champagne, candles)?

Absolutely. We offer customizable add-ons. Feel free to call to discuss various options.

Can you help arrange a surprise proposal?

We’d love to! Share your vision and we will help ensure the moment is magical and private.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes — gift certificates are available for any amount and can be purchased year-round.

Policies

What is your cancellation policy?
  • Cancellations made 14 days or more from the date of arrival will be fully refunded less a $100 fee per room reserved.
  • Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival will be issued a gift certificate which can be used by you, a friend, or a family member for another stay at our facility within a two-year period.
Do you have a minimum-night stay requirement?

Minimum stay requirements vary by room and season. Weekends and holidays often require a two-night minimum.

Are outside guests allowed on the property?

For the comfort and safety of all guests, outside visitors are not permitted without prior approval.

Is smoking allowed anywhere on the ranch?

We are a non-smoking property. Smoking is not permitted inside rooms or on the grounds.

Do you charge cleaning fees or resort fees?

No hidden fees. Your room rate includes breakfast, parking, and access to the property.

Parking & Access

Is on-site parking available?

Yes — complimentary parking is available for all guests.

Do you have covered parking?

Parking is uncovered but conveniently located near all suites.

Do you offer parking for oversized vehicles or trailers?

 Yes, please contact us prior to your arrival to ensure that we have space available.

Technology & Convenience

Do you provide USB chargers or bedside outlets?

Yes — each suite has conveniently placed outlets and USB charging ports.

Is cell reception good at the Ranch?

Reception varies by carrier, but most guests experience great service on the property.  

Accessibility

Do you have ADA-accessible rooms?

Yes, the Granary Room has ground-level access, no curb large shower and wider doorways. Please contact us directly to ensure we meet your specific needs.

Do you sell gift cards or gift certificates?

Our main areas are accessible, but some outdoor terrain is naturally uneven due to our hilltop setting.
