Hi Friends,
As the holidays and the quieter winter months come to a close, March is bringing warmer temperatures and busier days here at the Inn. We’ve begun planning our garden and thumbing through garden books and magazines for fresh landscaping ideas. After recently completing the buildout inside the greenhouse, we’ve started planting seeds and preparing flowers and plants that will soon fill the old water troughs and architectural pieces around the buildings. We’re also getting vegetables started for the garden and looking forward to seeing everything come to life in the weeks ahead.
We just returned from a quick trip to visit family and were grateful to spend extra time with Lynn’s mom and dad. It was wonderful to see them doing so well. We also enjoyed time with our sisters, nieces, and their families, including our amazing great-nephews, Blaise and Luke.
Bailey did wonderfully on her very first road trip and had a great time meeting the family, including her “cousins,” Bella (a Goldendoodle) Toad (a French Bulldog), and Ozzie (a Beagle mix). Bella, thank you for your gracious hospitality, for sharing your toys, and for patiently putting up with a very excited puppy. Toad, we apologize that Bailey was a little intimidated at first—she had not yet met anyone with more energy than herself! Ozzie, you are such a gentleman, and we love how you take care of our boys! We all look forward to visiting again soon. Landon, we hope you have a wonderful birthday, and we look forward to seeing you, Bekah, and your sweet family again very soon.
Lynn and I have always loved road trips. They provide wonderful time together for talking, reminiscing, planning, and laughing. On this trip we also spent time listening to podcasts along the way. One we especially enjoy is Our American Stories, which shares uplifting stories about people and moments that remind us of the good in the world.
One story that especially touched us was shared by Tracy Grant in 2016. She spoke about the blessing of caring for her husband during the final seven months of his life after a devastating cancer diagnosis. She said: “I had become a respected professional, a responsible and, I hope, loved parent, but I had yet to discover the reason I was put on this earth. During those seven months, I came to understand that whatever else I did in my life, nothing would matter more than this.”
Through that difficult season, she drew strength from God, became a prayer warrior, and discovered a deeper appreciation for the beauty of the world around her and the preciousness of every moment she shared with her husband.
Listening to stories like this renewed our gratitude for life, for our faith, for one another, and for the many wonderful people we are blessed to know and serve through our bed and breakfast. In a world where so much of what we see and hear can feel difficult or divisive, we are reminded of the wisdom found in Philippians 4:8:
“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
We hope that you take time in the coming days to count your blessings, notice the beauty around you, and spend time encouraging the people God places in your life.
And when you begin planning your next special getaway, we hope you’ll choose to stay with us. Many of our guests tell us that the moment they pass through the gate they begin to relax, inspired by the peaceful surroundings, beautiful views, and the calm atmosphere of the Hill Country.

Enjoy hiking here on the property or explore nearby favorites including Blue Hole Regional Park, Old Baldy, and Jacob’s Well Natural Area.
Hill Country Wineries and Breweries
Visit nearby wineries such as Driftwood Estate Winery, Duchman Family Winery, Wimberley Valley Winery, and Seventh Son Vineyards. The area also offers excellent distilleries and beer gardens with beautiful sunset views.
Austin’s SXSW Festival – March 12–18
Many guests enjoy staying in Wimberley and making a day trip into Austin for this world-famous music, film, and technology festival.
