We hope you had a truly blessed Easter and are enjoying a beautiful spring filled with meaningful time spent with family and friends.
Spring has fully arrived here in the Texas Hill Country. We’ve received some much-needed rain over the past week, and the landscape has come alive—trees bursting with vibrant shades of green, wildflowers beginning to dot the fields and roadways, and the weather has been nothing short of exceptional. Cool, crisp mornings and evenings paired with sunny days have made it a joy to spend time outdoors.
🌼 Around the Property
We’ve been busy enjoying several projects around the property. The raised beds in our vegetable garden are now planted, and we’ve added fresh flowers to the old water troughs placed throughout the grounds. We also gave the front fence a fresh coat of paint, which has been especially rewarding to see completed.
At times, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the list of projects still ahead of us—but just as often, we’re reminded how fulfilling it is to see progress unfold, especially when we hear our guests express appreciation for the care and attention to detail.
🌅Slow Down & Soak It In
Like many of you, we know how easy it is to get caught up in the busyness of everyday life and miss both the big and small blessings. We’ve found it’s important to be intentional—taking time each day to pause, sit on the porch, enjoy the sweeping views, watch the wildlife, and soak in the peace and quiet of this special place.
Visiting with you, sharing stories, and hearing about your adventures in and around Wimberley are constant reminders of what a gift this life truly is.
🐦Signs of the Season
We make it a point to find joy in the everyday—whether through projects, scenic drives, or simply sitting with a cup of coffee listening to the birds.
Just yesterday, while filling one of the hot tubs near the barn, we spotted the first Purple Martins of the season. This morning, while relaxing on the porch, the Merlin Bird ID app identified 17 different bird species in our backyard in just 14 minutes—what a gift!
Earlier this week, we slipped away for an afternoon to enjoy the Willow Loop scenic drive near Fredericksburg. While it was a bit early for peak wildflowers, we still found blooming cactus, a few early blossoms, and plenty of breathtaking Hill Country views along the way.
❤️A Little Getaway of Our Own
We’ve also been reminded of the importance of planning time away to celebrate special moments. This year, we’re looking forward to a milestone anniversary and have enjoyed planning a small getaway.
Lynn always makes sure our trips include beautiful waters for fly fishing, scenic drives, and exploring charming small towns. Of course, planning time away can be a bit of a challenge when we’re surrounded by so much beauty right here at home.

One of our greatest joys is working together in the kitchen—preparing breakfast, enjoying great music, and visiting with you, our wonderful guests.
