Our newly completed swimming pool offers a one-of-a-kind way to experience the beauty and heritage of the Texas Hill Country. Inspired by the concrete stock tanks once essential to ranch life, this familiar relic of yesteryear has been thoughtfully reimagined as a modern amenity and a special luxury for our guests.
Set beside the old windmill, the pool has become a striking focal point of the Inn at Sunset Mill Ranch. Nearby, a vintage corrugated water tank rests atop a cedar board-and-batten wellhouse designed to recall the simple ranch structures of years gone by. Together, the windmill, water tank, well house, and stock-tank-style pool create the feeling of stepping back into an earlier chapter of Hill Country life.
Colorful flowers, mature trees, and the old cedar barn as a backdrop soften the setting and make the pool feel as though it has always belonged here. The pool was designed with built-in seating ledges where guests can relax comfortably in the cool water while enjoying unobstructed views across the rolling, tree-covered hills. As evening approaches, it becomes an especially peaceful place to watch the setting sun disappear behind the distant ridgeline and fill the Hill Country sky with color.
More than simply a place to swim, the pool invites guests to slow down, linger awhile, and experience the quiet beauty of the ranch. Beautifully transformed for today, it has become a signature feature that perfectly reflects the character of the Inn—a nostalgic, relaxing, and unmistakably Texan experience that guests will remember long after their stay.
