Directions for Your Scenic Drive
1. Start at the Inn at Sunset Mill Ranch

2. Head to Shady Llama
- Directions:
- Exit the Inn’s driveway and turn left onto Fischer Store Rd.
- Drive 2 miles and turn right onto FM 2325.
- At the first light, turn left onto Jacob’s Well Rd.
- Veer right at the stop sign to stay on Jacob’s Well Rd and follow it to Ranch Road 12.
- Turn left onto Ranch Road 12.
After about two miles, you’ll find Shady Llama on your left. This hilltop beer and wine garden is the perfect first stop to soak in breathtaking views while saying hello to their resident llamas and donkeys. They also serve refreshing drinks—a great way to kickstart your day. One of our favorite places to gather with friends for drinks.
3. Lunch Stop at Tillie’s at Camp Lucy
- Directions:
- Continue north on Ranch Road 12.
- Turn left onto Gatlin Creek Rd.
- Turn left onto Mt. Gainor Rd.
- Turn right onto Pursley Rd, and then right onto Creek Rd.
- Tillie’s will be on your right.
Located within the gorgeous Camp Lucy, Tillie’s features elevated dining in a space inspired by Asian architecture. Indulge in their exquisite cuisine while surrounded by the beauty of the Hill Country.
4. A Taste of Local Spirits at Dripping Springs Distillery and Bell Springs Winery
- Directions:
- Continue on Creek Rd, which becomes Roger Hanks Parkway.
- Turn left onto Highway 290.
- Turn right onto Bell Springs Rd.
Your next stops are all about local flavor. First, visit Dripping Springs Distillery, the home of handcrafted spirits and smooth small-batch vodka. Just up the road is the cozy Bell Springs Winery, where you can sip on locally crafted wines. Both stops are perfect for a mid-afternoon break.
5. Explore the Elegant Texas Hill Country Olive Co.
- Directions:
- Continue north on Bell Springs Rd.
- Turn right onto W Fitzhugh Rd.
At Texas Hill Country Olive Co., take a tour of their beautiful olive orchard and enjoy tastings of their award-winning olive oils and wines. Don’t forget to pick up a bottle or two to bring a taste of Hill Country home.
6. End with Treaty Oak Distillery
- Directions:
- Continue on W Fitzhugh Rd and cross Ranch Road 12.
- Drive half a mile to find Treaty Oak Distillery on the right.
Wind down at Treaty Oak Distillery, known for its signature whiskeys, cocktails, and relaxing outdoor area. It’s the perfect final stop before heading back to explore more of Dripping Springs or trek back to the Inn.
7. Shop and Dine in Downtown Dripping Springs
- Directions:
- Turn right onto Ranch Road 12 and head back toward Dripping Springs.
If you still have time, take a stroll down Mercer Street in downtown Dripping Springs. Browse eclectic boutiques or grab a quick bite at one of their many charming eateries.
8. Cheers at Twisted X Brewery and Ghost Note Brewing
- Directions:

- Head south on Ranch Road 12.
- For Twisted X Brewery, turn left onto FM 150. It’s just a quarter-mile on your right.
- Further down Ranch Road 12, you’ll find Ghost Note Brewing on your right.

9. Return to the Inn
Drive south on Ranch Road 12 to reconnect with Jacob’s Well Rd, following it back to FM 2325 and turning left onto Fischer Store Rd. You’ll arrive at the Inn at Sunset Mill Ranch, ready to unwind.
