  • Wimberley – just a ten-minute drive from the Inn, you will find amazing art galleries, shopping, delicious coffee shops and cafes, beautiful hiking and walking trails, as well as the Blanco River and Cypress Creek. The first Saturday of each month, enjoy Wimberley Market Days with hundreds of vendors, food and music.
  • Gruene – Just outside of New Braunfels, visit the historic district and find great music at Gruene Hall (oldest dance hall in Texas), as well as great shopping and restaurants. The Guadalupe runs through the town, so you might want to book a trip to float down the river while you are there.
  • New Braunfels – Known for its beautiful recreational and water parks. The historic downtown is one of our favorite places to shop, especially for antiques. They have a wonderful farmers’ market open on Saturday mornings.
  • Driftwood – Not really any shopping, but boasts some really great restaurants and wineries, and a pretty drive down winding scenic country roads.
  • Luckenbach – (13 miles from Fredericksburg) You have to see the really small town (Population 3 according to the 2006 census) which made Waylon Jennings’ song famous and causes the town to swell with visitors on the weekends. Enjoy a drink and listen to music under the old live oaks behind the post office/general store or in the dance hall.
  • Fredericksburg – This is approximately 45 minutes from the inn, but is well worth the scenic drive to visit the historic downtown shopping district and see great German architecture and enjoy some amazing foods. You will, of course, want to pick up a bottle of wine from one of their numerous wineries and pick up some peaches or other treats from an orchard on your way back to the inn.

This is just a small sampling of the small towns and fun that awaits you.  Just let us know what you enjoy, and we can give you numerous other recommendations and ideas for fun excursions and experiences.
