Happy New Year from the Texas Hill Country

The New Year has arrived in Wimberley, and we’re welcoming it with beautiful weather, crisp Hill Country air, and stunning sunsets. Lately, the evening skies have been especially breathtaking, dazzling us and our guests alike, and inspiring plenty of photos. We never want to take these views for granted, and we are so thankful to share this special place with you.

Reflecting on 2025

As we look back on 2025, we are filled with gratitude for so many joyful moments. The year included trips to visit family, celebrating the wedding of our niece Lexi and her husband Noah, meeting our baby nieces Adalee and Myla for the first time, while celebrating our niece, Wren’s birthday, and cheering on our nephews Blaise and Luke at basketball and soccer games. We also enjoyed scenic drives and were blessed with a beautiful and restful vacation.

Like many, we also faced a few difficult moments during the year. Over time, we’ve learned what it means to “give thanks in all circumstances.” While that can be challenging in the moment, even in hard seasons we can look back and recognize God’s faithfulness and blessings.

Faith, Family & Hill Country

We began the year with a quiet retreat at our Winter’s Mill Cabin, where we focused on goals and planning for the Inn. During that time, we landed on the words that best describe our heart for this place: Faith, Family & Hill Country.

Shortly after, Lynn experienced a medical emergency that required a brief hospital stay. We are incredibly grateful that he recovered quickly and is doing wonderfully now. We’re also deeply thankful for dear friends who stepped in to serve breakfast and care for our guests during that weekend—it was a true reminder of the community surrounding us.

Community, Loss, and New Joy

On July 4th, our hearts were heavy for our neighbors across Central Texas who suffered devastating floods and heartbreaking loss of life. We were moved by the way communities near and far came together to pray, support, and bring hope to those affected.

July also brought personal loss as we said goodbye to our beloved dog, Maggie. We remain thankful for her long and sweet life. In October, our home was filled with new joy when we welcomed our puppy, Bailey. She has quickly become a favorite among guests, charming everyone with her playful spirit and puppy antics.

Thank You for Being Part of Our Story

We are especially grateful for you. Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for allowing us to share our little slice of heaven in the Texas Hill Country. We love offering recommendations for local restaurants, wineries, and things to do—and we truly appreciate the travel tips and ideas you share with us as well.

Many of our guests travel from across Texas, some from the Dallas–Fort Worth area. From your recommendations and our own adventures, we’ve created a Dallas–Fort Worth to Wimberley Scenic Drive Guide, which you’ll find—along with other favorite routes—on our Attractions & Scenic Drives page.

A Perfect Time to Visit

With the busy holidays behind us, January is wonderfully peaceful at the Inn. Cooler temperatures and sunny days make this an ideal time for hiking around the property and nearby parks, taking scenic drives, visiting local wineries, and dining al fresco in and around Wimberley.

We hope to welcome you back soon. Please let us know how we can help make your next visit truly special.

May your 2026 be filled with joy, peace, and abundant blessings.

Warmly,

Lynn & Diana
