Hi Friends,

Spring has sprung in the beautiful Texas Hill Country!  Guests are taking advantage of the warmer weather by getting away to spend some time at the Inn and enjoy this new season.  The grass is turning green, the trees are starting to bud, the birds are singing, and the blue bonnets and wildflowers will soon be popping up everywhere.

Spring is a wonderful time to take scenic drives and view the wildflowers and nature near Wimberley and surrounding small towns.   One of our favorites drives takes you from our Inn on the Blanco, Luchenbach, Stonewall, Fischer Loop.  Another beautiful but shorter scenic trail takes you around the countryside of Dripping Springs.

When Lynn and I were planning and goal setting earlier this year we decided to create our own personal tag line, taking a cue from one of our favorite TV shows, Duck Dynasty.  Their tag line … Faith, Family and Ducks represents their family’s priorities.  We both agreed that our tag line would be “Faith, Family and Hill Country.”  Our faith and dependence on God is the foundation upon which we live our daily lives.  Family represents not only our little family unit (Lynn, Diana and Maggie), but our extended family, as well as our dear friends that feel like family.

Faith and “family” were so evident recently when Lynn suffered a medical crisis that put him in the hospital and required an emergency procedure.  Thankfully he is now home and recovering well, and we are so grateful to God and to all our precious friends that stepped up and came to our rescue, prayed and cared for us, cooked, cleaned, greeted and served guests, and made sure everything ran smoothly at the B&B while we were in the hospital.  We are so appreciative for the blessing of friendship and the prayers, texts, and support from everyone.

The third priority in our personal tag line represents the beautiful Texas Hill Country where we are so fortunate to live our dream of owning and sharing our B&B with guests and making new friends with those visiting us here at the Inn at Sunset Mill Ranch.  The Hill Country is the most beautiful place to live in Texas with breathtaking views, abundant wildlife, and spectacular sunsets.  It is also where we are privileged to have so many fun experiences and venues, like enjoying fabulous local restaurants and hangouts, taking a wine or distillery tour, browsing the local shops and art galleries, and where we can take those beautiful scenic drives.  For those wanting to enjoy an unforgettable spring fishing trip, the Guadalupe River just happens to be the southernmost trout fishery in the US with several guides in the area who can book full and half-day trips that we promise you will thoroughly enjoy.

When we first moved to Texas after graduating from grad school several years ago, we started visiting the Hill Country and fell in love with the area.  We visited often and knew that someday this is where we wanted to own our Bed and Breakfast and live our lives to the fullest.

There is a saying that we Texas transplants like to quote “We weren’t born in Texas, but we got here as quick as we could.” We feel that way not only about the state, but more specifically about the Hill Country.  When we sit on our back porch watching the changing of the colors during a spectacular sunset overlooking the beautiful hills and valleys, it feels like a dream that we get to live here.

Lynn often says that this place is where we were meant to live, and we have spent our entire lives journeying to get here.  That is why we love sharing this magical place with you dear friends, so that you too can experience our little slice of heaven here in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

See you at the Inn soon,

Diana and Lynn
