Driftwood Estate Winery– This winery offers great wines and beautiful panoramic views. The staff showcases true Texas hospitality, and the tastings are a fabulous way to explore the wines. Driftwood Estate Winery Bistro is open for lunch or small plates on the weekends. Wimberley Valley Winery– Discover wine, food trucks, and live entertainment on the weekends at this off-the-beaten-path winery. There is a gorgeous oak grove and spacious patios with outdoor seating options to enjoy a glass or bottle of wine. Operating since 1983, this winery is a stand-out for producing small-batch, hand-crafted wines. Wimberley Valley Winery produces sparkling, red, and white varietals that range from sweet to dry. Fall Creek Winery– Located across the street from the world-famous Salt Lick BBQ. The relaxing atmosphere is a stunningly gorgeous backdrop for guests. The winery is one of the oldest vineyards and wineries in Texas. Fall Creek Winery utilizes both classic winemaking techniques and cutting-edge technology to produce a range of wines that capture the essence of the Texas terrain. From their signature Tempranillo to crisp Sauvignon Blanc, the winery’s portfolio reflects the diversity of grape varietals thriving in the Texas Hill Country. The estate offers tastings, guided tours, and special events. Open seven days a week.
Salt Lick Cellars– The family behind Salt Lick BBQ planted roots in wine in 2006 when 35 acres of different grape varietals were born. The cellar opened its doors in 2009 and offers many fine wines available for tasting and purchase, including Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Farm to Market blends, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Sparkling White, and the house BBQ RED, and BBQ WHITE wines. Duchman Family Winery- Located on the same grounds as Trattoria Lisina, you feel like you have been transported into an oasis. The winery was recognized by HGTV as one of the top 20 most picturesque wineries. Duchman started in 2004 and has a passion for unique Italian varietals that produce wines such as Vermentino, Sangiovese, and Dolcetto. The tasting room is open Monday 12:00 – 6:00 p.m., Tuesday – Thursday, 12:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday – Saturday 12:00 – 8:00 p.m., and Sunday 12:00 – 7:00 p.m. Reservations are recommended. They offer a private picnic experience and private tastings.
Seventh Son Winery– located just a couple of miles from Inn at Sunset Mill Ranch on Fischer Store Road, this is a convenient stop on the weekends. The Tasting room is open Saturday and Sunday only from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. It is the newest winery in the area and has some great laid-back outdoor seating shaded by Texas live oak trees. It would be a nice place to end your wine tour before heading back to the Inn for a glass of your favorite beverage, relaxing on the porch, and watching the sun go down.
