While the owners cannot guarantee you’ll see one of their animals (especially during the hottest part of the summer), it isn’t uncommon.

Slow down during your day and savor the unique flavors Wimberly has to offer. During Wimberley Valley Winery’s wine tasting, you’ll be able to try five different wines for $20. Whether you prefer to try something local or imported, this family-owned and family-run business is sure to have the perfect flavors to offer you. If you’re visiting during the weekends, check out their food truck for wood-fired pizzas! 

Take in the dramatic views at Driftwood Estate Winery.

Another short drive from the Inn, located between Wimberley and Driftwood, is an award-winning winery with a bistro open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The menu features salads, sandwiches, quesadillas, and more! A personal favorite, this winery is a perfect spot to spend an afternoon. The last pour is at 5:30 p.m. The tasting room is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The property does not allow anyone under 21 years of age to be onsite.

Art Galleries

The local art scene is more of a medium cool vibe with local art and talent.

If you’re a lover of the arts, you’re going to want to check out Art on 12, where local artists feature their art for the public to see. The building is 5000 square feet and is filled with creativity that is ready to inspire the next visitor. When you visit, you’ll find a range of art from paintings and photography to jewelry, sculpture, and mixed media. Several pieces will even be for sale. Take a short drive to Driftwood for favorites Trattoria Lisina, Hays City Store, and Salt Lick BBQ. Or enjoy Wimberley favorites, including  Wimberley Café, Chills on the Creek, Creekhouse Kitchen & Bar, and Leaning Pear– all of which have great outdoor seating and are within walking distance of the square.

Outdoor Time

Wimberly is known for its watering holes to cool down – Jacob’s Well and Blue Hole (be sure to check if they are open or if reservations are required). In addition to watering holes, there are many hiking trail options at Blue Hole Park, Jacob’s Well, and hike up the steps of Old Baldy for some fabulous views. On-site at Inn at Sunset Mill Ranch, you can enjoy 25 miles of walking trails and may even spot deer, cows, birds, and more. Rent tubes or paddle boards on the Guadalupe, Blanco River, or Canyon Lake. The outdoors surrounding Wimberley are absolutely stunning and worth an extra day to experience.
