Happy New Year Friends!

As we celebrate the new year, we begin to set goals and make plans for all that we would like to accomplish and experience in 2024.

It can be a bit overwhelming when you look at the big picture. We find that it helps to take a little creative retreat from all the daily work to focus on each other, look back on our blessings, reflect on all the wonderful new friends we have made, and all that we were able to experience in the last year. How grateful we are to all of you dear friends for coming to stay with us, sharing your stories and letting us help you plan your get away trip to the beautiful Texas Hill Country. In addition to helping you make your anniversary, birthday and romantic retreats extra special, here are a few highlights from 2023:

• It took most of the year, but we added the beautiful new Granary room located on the first floor of the barn, decorated with old barn wood and tin ceilings and furnished with antiques, an iron king bed with luxurious comfy linens and a spa-like large bathroom.
• Purchased an iconic Airstream, redecorated the inside, and now have it parked under the lean-to of our big cedar barn, soon to offer guests the quintessential glamping experience.
• Built a second full bath just steps away from the Airstream for guests that need a little more room.
• Built a big wooden deck by the barn, and furnished with a large new hot tub, added seating overlooking the valley below and a firepit to stay warm on cool nights.
• Added an outdoor theater between the main house and the Carriage House for guests to enjoy a romantic comedy or classic movie while sitting around the firepit.
• Completed the outdoor bar made from an old grain bin. Located next to the firepit, this is the perfect place to enjoy a drink and watch the game with your friends.
• Improved communications with our guests with monthly Newsletters and regular social media posts.
• So thankful for our family, and while we love and miss them dearly, we are so grateful that we were able to spend good quality time with them with visits throughout the year.
• During our recent creative retreat, we agreed that these are a few of the plans we hope to achieve in 2024:
• Put the finishing touches on the Airstream and make it available for guests to reserve by February 1st.
• More landscaping around the buildings, gardens and walking trails throughout the property.
• Begin construction of Phase II to complete the build-out of the inside of the barn to add four guest rooms, a kitchen and large gathering area that will accommodate your family reunions, small corporate retreats, and other special events.
• Slow down and take more time with each other to sit on the porch in the mornings as we sip coffee and bird and wildlife watch, or with a glass of wine in the evenings to view the spectacular sunsets.
• Get together more often with family and friends and help each other live a more abundant life.
