Hi Friends!
Probably because of Valentine’s Day and my romantic heart, the first word that comes to mind for the month of February is “love”. Even as a little girl I would search meticulously for just the right box of pretty or funny Valentine cards and choose just the right one to share with each of my friends and classmates. In our hometown in southern Illinois our high school booster club raised funds every year by allowing students to purchase carnations (red, pink or white) to be delivered to the one you loved, liked or wanted to get to know. Then those receiving the carnations could pay to find out who sent the flowers. I received a few flowers during those high school years, but the ones that meant the most are those red ones that my sweetheart, now my husband, Lynn sent to me. I am so blessed to be married to my high-school sweetheart. Even after all these years, we are still best friends, still give each other mushy cards, and tell each other every day how much we love one another. Early in our marriage we started staying at bed and breakfasts when we traveled on vacations or little getaways. Our very first stay was at a beautiful old farmhouse across the road from the lake in South Haven, Michigan. Everything from the beautiful old home, the smell of fresh peach pot pourri on our dresser, the cool breeze blowing in from the open windows, to the taste and smell of fresh baked goods coming from the kitchen made it truly a *hygge experience. From that first stay we were hooked; we knew that we wanted to run our own romantic bed and breakfast someday. Fast forward many years, where we found the perfect place near Wimberley in the beautiful Texas Hill Country to build and share with our guests the Inn at Sunset Mill Ranch. From the moment you drive through the gate and wind down the long drive to your cabin or guest room, you will feel relaxed and renewed in anticipation of a stay filled with beautiful views and grounds, luxurious rooms, good food, fun and special moments with your sweetheart. We hope you can come and enjoy a romantic getaway during this Valentine season, or reserve your room to celebrate an anniversary, birthday, or special occasion with someone you love. You can choose between:
We know you will enjoy your stay and will want to come back again and again for this romantic and hygge experience at Inn at Sunset Mill Ranch! *Hygge (pronounced “hooga”) defined – 1) the quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being. 2) taking time away from the daily rush to be together with people you care about, or even by yourself, to relax and enjoy life’s quieter pleasures. |
